Senior guard John DiBartolomeo has been named the DIIINews Men's Basketball Player of the Year. Additionally, he was named a First Team All-American by the online publication.

DIIINews selected DiBartolomeo as one of 24 pre-season All-Americans in 2012-13. He was an Honorable Mention All-American by DIIINews after the 2011-12 season.

This is his second All-America honor since the end of the 2012-13 season. Last week, he was named a First Team All-American by the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
“John had a tremendous season individually and in leading his team to the NCAA tournament,” said DIII News editor Gary Rubin, “It was a tight race but he is most deserving."
DiBartolomeo is joined on the 2013 DIIIN All-American first team by Randolph's Colton Hunt, Derek Raridon of North Central, Taylor Hall of Bethel and N.C. Wesleyan's Brandon Givens

DiBartolomeo finished his senior campaign with a career-best 22.6 ppg. scoring average. He led Rochester in scoring, rebounding, assists, and steals.

He was named Player of the Year by the University Athletic Association and the Eastern College Athletic Conference (for Upstate New York). He was named the East Region Player of the Year by D3hoops.com and the NABC.

DiBartolomeo was a First Team honoree by the UAA, ECAC Upstate New York,  the NABC, and D3hoops.com.

He was selected to play in the Reese's NABC Division III All-Star Game in Salem, VA last Saturday. Previously, he was named a finalist for the Josten's Trophy, given by the Salem Rotary Club.

DIIINews has named a Player of the Year for the last 20 years - beginning in 1993-94.
