Three University of Rochester individuals who distinguished themselves on the volleyball court have been named to the University Athletic Association's Silver Anniversary Team.

The UAA began in the 1987-88 academic year. Players were selected through the 2011-12 academic year. Players were chosen to the Silver Anniversary Team if they met one of two criteria: (1) athletes who were named as Player of the Year; (2) athletes who earned a minimum of five points for All-UAA selection. Athletes named First Team All-UAA received two points. Athletes named Second Team All-UAA received one point.

Rochester's three honorees are Diane Ulatowski, Jennifer Sherry, and Leslie Hartman. Ulatowski was named First Team All-UAA in 1987 after the UAA Championships at Washington University. In 1988, she was selected as the UAA Player of the Year and First Team All-Association in the championships at Carnegie Mellon University.

Sherry was named First Team All-UAA for three consecutive seasons: in 1989 at Rochester, in 1990 at Emory, and in 1991 at NYU.  She is Rochester's only volleyball player to be named First Team All-UAA for three consecutive years.

Hartman was named Second Team All-UAA as a freshman in 1990 at Emory. She was a First Team All-UAA honoree in 1992 at Chicago and in 1993 at Rochester.

Ulatowski was a native of Depew, NY who attended Lancaster High School. She graduated from the University in 1989. Sherry graduated in 1992. She was a native of Tonawanda, NY who attended Sweet Home High School in Amherst, NY. Hartman graduated from Rochester in 1994. She earned All-America honors from the American Volleyball Coaches Association as a senior in 1993. Hartman came to Rochester from Dayton, OH where she attended Oakwood High School.

Announcement of the team comes just before the UAA stages the first of two volleyball round robins this weekend. Rochester will be in Chicago to take on Washington University, Case Western Reserve University, and Brandeis University. The second round robin will be held in two weeks at Carnegie Mellon University. The championships are scheduled for Emory University on the first weekend in November.
